If you want to see the future of education, you’re in the right spot.
In 2005 the Cayman Islands made an unprecedented pledge to bring about much needed transformation of their education system. Leveraging the advantages of a small population and thriving economy the changes have been far-reaching on a scale that other countries find difficult to rival. Driven by a committed government and some of the most brilliant minds on the international scene, the Cayman Islands are not only embracing but increasingly leading cutting edge developments in technology, facilities, human capital development and teaching and learning styles. The world is watching this one, so leave your comments, link to the site and get in touch if you want to know more. Marjorie Beckles was a student we are all very proud of and wish to honor her life and educational accomplishments. We send our condolences to her dear family, friends, and beloved colleagues from Bank Street College of Education, New York City. She was an outstanding student, colleague and friend. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her at Bank Street. Her Masters degree thesis formed the beginnings of the Early Childhood reforms and standards for the Cayman Reception level. Under her initiative, the Week of the Young Child was established and just completed it's 11th Anniversary. She will live in our hearts and minds always.
Professor Roberta Altman, Graduate Faculty Bank Street College of Education. New York, New York
